MATCH REPORT | Penrhyncoch 2-1 Cardiff Corinthians

Although it took until extra time, the Roosters are in the hat for the JD Welsh Cup 2nd round after a 2-1 win over Cardiff Corinthians.

Terrible rain and wind added to the occasion which saw Jon Evans put the Roosters ahead after a mix up in the Corries box just before the hour mark. The Corries continued to search for an equaliser and eventually got their reward in the 92nd minute after an unfortunate Owain James put into own net after a dangerous cross across the face. The first period of extra time ended goalless and it looked like penalties were on the card. With minutes remaining in the second period of extra time, a dangerous cross from Antonio Corbisiero

caused confusion inside the Corries box, Steff Davies gambled and slid in to bundle home to break Corries hearts. Credit to both sides in horrendous conditions. In the hat for the next round and another win on the board for the Roosters!

Depending on the result in their game, we will play either Llanelli Town or Cwmamman United in the second round
